Life’s a journey – share it!

At this year’s Colourfest we are committed to making the festival as green as possible and ask you all to consider your environment and the effect your travel has on it.

Therefore we have teamed up with the friendly peeps at GoCarShare to help encourage as many of you as possible to share car journeys by offering lifts.  Just click on our page https://gocarshare.com/festival/colourfest and add your journey, whether you are driving or looking for a lift, and they will match you with someone going the same way.

Go on, not only will you be saving the planet a little at a time, but you’ll be saving pennies too!

By Train

Our closest rail station is Salisbury but there are also travel options from Poole.  Both stations will require a further journey by bus.

By Bus

The site’s remoteness is part of what it makes it so special, but it does mean that some planning is required if arriving by public transport. Here’s an overview to get you started; if you have any other tips please let us know. And of course, check all information before relying on it.

Gaunts House is situated between Salisbury and Bournemouth, both of which are well-served by mainline rail.
We do offer a pick-up service for people coming by train/bus, but for practical reasons it is limited to Wimborne Town centre and the Handley Cross roundabout stop on the Salisbury bus route number 20 (see Below).  This service is strictly by arrangement and at a cost of £5 per person.  Email info@colourfest.co.uk when you have confirmed all your travel arrangements.
Do be careful if you’re walking on country lanes. Eyes and ears open, etc. It’s usually safest to walk on the right, so you can see the traffic that’s going to be closest to you but on bends it’s sometimes safer to cross the road, when it’s curving to the right.
Travelling via Salisbury
Bus 20 Salisbury-Blandford Forum
Ask the driver to drop you at the Handley Cross roundabout.
The bus leaves Salisbury (Endless Street, stop D) at:
08:40
13:10
16:10
17:50
Monday to Saturday, 25 minute journey, no service Sundays.Timetable here
Travelling via Poole
Bus Number 4, Stand E  Poole – Wimborne
Bus Number 4 leaving from stand E in Poole bus station and run’s every 30 minutes.  Once in Wimborne the pickup point will generally be at the loading bay in front of the main square near costa.  Don’t forget to arrange collection in advance as communicating during the festival can be more difficult.

Car Park

There is ample off-road parking.  We have night-time security, however cars will be parked at the owners risk.  Please don’t leave anything of value in your car.  Please note there will be a £10 car park charge for cars and £25 for Campervans.
