By Train

It is probably best to train to Poole Train Station which is the closest station if you are coming from the South.  Salisbury would be the best if coming from London…..

By Bus

The site’s remoteness is part of what it makes it so special, but it does mean that some planning is required if arriving by public transport. Here’s an overview to get you started; if you have any other tips please let us know. And of course, check all information before relying on it.

We do offer a pick-up service for people coming by train/bus, but for practical reasons it is limited to Wimborne Town centre and the Harmon’s Cross stop on the Salisbury bus number 20 (see Below) . Get in touch as early as possible and we’ll let you know which connections we’re going to be able to pick people up from. The sooner you contact us, the more likely we’ll be able to build your route into our plans. We make a charge of £5 to cover costs.
Gaunts House is situated between Salisbury and Bournemouth, both of which are well-served by mainline rail. Our pick-ups are going to be focussed on people coming from Salisbury and those getting to Wimborne on buses from Poole and Bournemouth.  This must be booked in advance.  Please email and we’ll contact you back.
Do be careful if you’re walking on country lanes. Eyes and ears open, etc. It’s usually safest to walk on the right, so you can see the traffic that’s going to be closest to you but on bends it’s sometimes safer to cross the road, when it’s curving to the right.
Travelling via Salisbury
