James Frost is a songwriter, singer and acoustic guitarist, who sings to the open-hearted and authentic nature in us all.
His live shows challenge the typical performer-audience boundaries and create opportunities for people to share a love of music in a joyful, communal atmosphere. Expect huge gospel singalongs, storytelling and mischief, quiet moments of reflection and uplifting anthems calling in a brighter world.
James has toured extensively in recent times, playing concerts with James Yorkston, Martha Tilston, Tiny Ruins and many other folk heroes. He’s performed at Glastonbury Festival, on BBC Radio, in living room concerts organised by fans and at XR rallies in front of the Houses of Parliament.
James says; “I’ve been honing my craft for many years, touring and travelling; walking the tightrope of the independent artist. It’s been hugely challenging and deeply joyful, like all the best things in life, and I believe in it passionately.”
Fans raised close to £15,000 for his new album ‘All Of Our Hands’ through one of the largest independent crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo, with additional funding from Arts Council England and recording sessions at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. The eclectic album, recorded live with some of the finest musicians in the South West of England and featuring three choirs, a colourful array of world instruments and many special guests, will be released this year.
